It all started on the Copacabana. Dr Tom thought that Kaiser's antics in a full on fist fight would be ripe for a cover of the Kaiser Chief's I Predict a Riot.
So we made it happen, with buy in from Ricky, Peanut and all the other Kaisers (only on the basis on us making the song better than the original), we went about making this classic samba style.
I rewrote and translated the lyrics , and worked with the film's composers, who of course are the real geniuses behind this refix.
Anyway, Tru Thoughts dug, released and promoted it - and the next thing we know we are on regular rotation on 6 music, Radio 2 and radio stations worldwide - and being played out by Gilles Peterson, DJ Yoda, Craig Charles and many others.
Coming soon is a 7" release, with limited edition lino print artwork ... and we've decided to make more music for the airwaves.
